Poets AK Blakemore, Livia Franchini, Lucy Mercer and Jane Yeh read from their work and contributions to Spells at London's finest esoteric bookshop.
Join us for candle-lit readings of occult poetry from new writers and those whose work reaches out from the the places the new feminist witchcraft leans into: “nameless and formless, about to be birthed, but already felt” (Audre Lorde). Spells: 21st-Century Occult Poetry is edited by Rebecca Tamas and Sarah Shin; it’s published by the new Ignota Books, co-founded by Shin (who also co-runs the feminist Silver Press). Spells gives voice to over thirty contemporary poets: self-hood and the imagination meet the animating power of the occult.
Drinks and social before and after: the poet-contributors and editors will gladly sign copies and would love to meet you: we’re a friendly bunch.
